Protective caps are connected to the connector body by threads of stainless steel coated with Teflon. Fixing prevent losing the cap. The advantages of using protective caps :

• Extended life span the connectors - the mating faces are protected against impact damage and abrasion.

• Improved safety - the connectors are protected against dust and water
